Masterclass “L’Académie nomade” i.s.m. Sam Baron

Let Dutch students get inspired by innovative French designers. That was the goal of the masterclass “L’Académie nomade” initiated by Maison Descartes. At the Willem de Kooning Academy, Tessa Lavrijsen invited Sam Baron, head of Fabrica design in Turin, Italy. The workshop focused on the notions of cultural identity. Design as a way to reflect, reveal and comment on our cultural legacy, would be the guideline for the creation of a collection regarding "Dutch souvenirs". Thirty-five students of different design disciplines were challenged on possible relations and contact points between our various identities and values.
